In the Dummy series, I work with found objects to create a scarecrow, which is an old symbol for one’s territory. I imagine this figure in a post-apocalyptic environment. Using a jumble of various scraps and used items from the immediate surroundings, I construct a mass with familiar objects that pose a sense of chaos in their making. As these layered materials are arbitrarily held together by industrial joints, the inner structure stands as insecure, revealing what borders look like in a world without order and territories.
